Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati blesses the new computers at Don Bosco Green Skill Institute, Jorapara.
A significant step towards digital empowerment was taken as the new computer laboratory at the Green Skill Institute, Jorapara, was blessed and inaugurated on April 9, 2025, by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati.
The newly installed computers, a generous contribution under a project by Bosco Reach Out (BRO), Ulubari, mark a milestone in making technological education more accessible for trainees and pre-novices in the region.
During the blessing ceremony, Fr. Bivan led a prayer, invoking God’s guidance and blessings upon all who would use the facility, encouraging them to make responsible and fruitful use of technology. Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the team at BRO, he noted, “This laboratory is more than just a room with machines—it is a space of transformation where knowledge, skills, and digital literacy will take root and grow.”
Fr. Bivan extended warm regards to the trainees and pre-novices present at the event, expressing his confidence that the new facility would contribute significantly to their learning and growth. He emphasized that access to such resources would now reduce the need for long commutes to the Vocational Centre at Mendal for computer training.
Also present at the inaugural programme were Rev. Fr. Mackley Gomes, SDB, Director of the Pre-novices at Jorapara, Rev. Fr. Vinod Lugun, and Rev. Bro. Sunil Kerketta. They extended their appreciation and best wishes to Bosco Reach Out for their valuable support and vision in reaching out to the young people of the region through such initiatives.
