Rev. Fr. Marcus Lakra was officially installed as the new Parish Priest of Shallang Parish by Bp. Wilbert Marwein DD, the bishop of Nongstoin Diocese, on 19th March 2025.
In a solemn and prayerful ceremony, Rev. Fr. Marcus Lakra was officially installed as the new Parish Priest of Shallang Parish by Bp. Wilbert Marwein DD, the bishop of Nongstoin Diocese, on 19th March 2025. The installation took place during the Holy Mass, witnessed by a large congregation of faithful from the parish.
The Holy Mass was a moment of deep reverence and celebration, with several clergy members in attendance, including Rev. Fr. Albert Mario SDB, Rev. Fr. Hubert Marak SDB, and Rev. Fr. Francis Kujur SDB, among others. The faithful gathered to witness the installation and to offer prayers for Rev. Fr. Lakra as he embarks on his new role, guiding the spiritual life of Shallang Parish.
Following the installation, Bishop Wilbert Marwein also blessed the St. Joseph Monument at Rongbeng Circle, Nongchram. The monument, dedicated to St. Joseph, serves as a symbol of faith of the Catholic Church in West Khasi Hills of Meghalaya.
