, Rev. Fr. Marcus Lakra SDB was officially installed as the new Rector of the Shallang community in a ceremony attended by community members.
On the evening of 8th March 2025, Rev. Fr. Marcus Lakra SDB was officially installed as the new Rector of the Shallang community in a ceremony attended by community members. Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial, was delegated by the Provincial to oversee the installation process.
The installation followed the evening prayer and the recitation of the profession of faith by the newly appointed Rector.
In his address to the community, Fr. Marcus Lakra expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation he had received. He emphasized the importance of working together as a team to bring out the best in each member. Fr. Lakra also thanked Fr. Denis Toju Sangma SDB, the outgoing Rector, for his leadership in advancing the parish’s mission, and Bro. Benedict Sangma SDB for his contributions to the school.
Fr. Denis Sangma, in turn, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the community for their support during his tenure and wished Fr. Marcus Lakra all the best as he assumed his new role as Rector.
