Programme being performed by the students of Don Bosco Centre for Learning as they celebrate the Feast Day of Don Bosco, along with the other SDB communities of Tura region and the Salesian family.
Don Bosco Centre for Learning (DBCL) marked the Feast Day of St. John Bosco on 31st January 2025 with grandeur, bringing together the Salesian communities of the Tura region along with the Salesian family, including the FMA, MSMHC, Salesian Cooperators, Past Pupils, and other religious priests and sisters. The event witnessed the participation of approximately 220 priests, sisters, and lay collaborators, making it a momentous occasion.
The celebration was not only a tribute to Don Bosco but also an opportunity to commemorate Salesian Family Day. His Lordship Bishop Andrew R. Marak, along with diocesan fathers and neighboring families, joined in the festivities, which concluded with a joyous fellowship meal. The participants were warmly welcomed by Fr. Andreas Panna, Spiritual Director of DBCL, and the community members. Prior to the main program, all attendees were treated to delightful refreshments at 3:30 PM.
Bros. Peter Mark and Themus Lugun gracefully led the event as masters of ceremony. The program commenced with a prayer to St. John Bosco, led by Fr. Anthony A. Sangma, SDB, catechist of Bosco Mount, setting a deeply spiritual tone. A floral tribute was then offered by members of the Salesian family as a sign of love and reverence for their founder. This was followed by a prayer dance performed by the Auxilium girls of Tura, invoking a sense of divine presence.
A highlight of the gathering was the presentation of the 2025 Strenna by Dr. Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma, Regional Councillor of the Tura region and Rector and Principal of DBCL and Don Bosco Junior College. His thought-provoking discourse on the theme “Anchored with Hope, Pilgrims with the Young” inspired attendees to embrace the Salesian spirit and become beacons of hope in their respective communities.
Adding a lively touch to the occasion, young DBCL hostellers electrified the stage with a dynamic dance performance on the song “Dream Your Dream.” After a short break, the second session resumed with a warm welcome song by DBCL boys for Bishop Andrew R. Marak and other distinguished guests. The Auxilium girls once again graced the gathering with a mesmerizing dance performance to the song “Children of Don Bosco.” Bishop Andrew then delivered a short yet impactful message, underscoring the significance of faith, community, and the Salesian mission.
The celebration culminated with a grand fellowship meal, where attendees savored an array of delicious dishes prepared by the neighboring Salesian communities. The joyous atmosphere, filled with laughter and camaraderie, made the Feast Day a cherished and unforgettable experience.
