- School Education:
The first School Education Commission meeting was held on 18th January 2025 at the Principal’s Office, Don Bosco School. The objective was to outline the plan for DBSEM schools. The agenda included discussions on the Annual Examinations, Setting of Question Papers, the New Academic Year, and scheduling the Principals’ Meeting.
Principals’ Meeting – 23rd January 2025
The first Principals’ Meeting for the year 2025 was held on 23rd January 2025 at Mario Hall, Provincial House, Guwahati.
This strategic gathering focused on reviewing ongoing educational initiatives, finalizing plans for the annual examinations, and coordinating the preparation of question papers.
Fr. Owen SJ conducted a session on Minority Rights for Christian schools and explained the procedure for acquiring a Minority Certificate.
The second Education Commission meeting was held on 30th January 2025 at Don Bosco School, Principal’s Office. The meeting focused on planning the upcoming annual Principals’ Meeting and addressing other related issues.
Principals’ Meeting – 7th June 2025
The second Principals’ Meeting was held on 7th June 2025.
Fr. Provincial, who was present at the meeting, opened the session by congratulating the Principals on the excellent board examination results. He emphasized the vital role of Principals in shaping students’ academic and personal development.
- Mr. Sandeep Dey from Headword Publishing House conducted a session offering insights into modern educational strategies.
- Mr. Rahul Kumar introduced ABACUS Training aimed at enhancing students’ cognitive development.
- Fr. M.C. George shared a preview of the upcoming Mini Bosco Meet at Don Bosco Barpeta Road.
- Fr. Jogesh Sangma spoke about strengthening the Past Pupils’ Network.
- Fr. Threnius Sangma proposed the expansion of the Sports Academy to all Don Bosco schools.
These meetings reflected the Province’s commitment to holistic youth education, enhanced school governance, and greater community involvement all in alignment with Don Bosco’s educational vision.
DBSEM – A Way Forward
Strategic Plan and Initiatives for Strengthening Educational Mission (2026–2028)
As part of its ongoing commitment to educational excellence and holistic development, the Don Bosco School Excellent Mission (DBSEM) outlines the following forward-looking initiatives and goals. The Education Commission will meet in August 2025 to chart the course for the upcoming academic sessions and institutional strengthening:
Key Objectives and Action Plans:
- Textbook Review and Selection (2026–2028):
The Education Commission will finalize the selection of new textbooks for the next three academic years to ensure relevance, quality, and alignment with educational standards and Don Bosco’s pedagogy.
- Teachers’ Animation (Region-wise):
Plans will be drawn up for region-wise teacher animation programs, focusing on personal growth, pedagogical enhancement, and spiritual motivation.
- Core Subject Teachers’ Training (Region-wise):
Region-specific training sessions will be organized for core subject teachers to enhance subject mastery, teaching techniques, and classroom innovation.
- Collaboration with Scouts and Guides Movement:
DBSEM aims to introduce Scouts and Guides units in every school by collaborating with the respective commission, fostering leadership, discipline, and community service among students.
- Strengthening the Past Pupils Network:
In partnership with the Past Pupils Commission, a Past Pupils Unit will be established in every school by next month, creating a strong alumni network to support the schools’ mission and activities.
- Sports Talent Identification and Development:
The Education Commission will work with the Sports Academy Commission to identify talented sportspersons within the schools and provide opportunities for further development and exposure.

By the end of 2025, all schools will be required to update essential official documents, including:
