The Salesian Province of Guwahati extended its warm congratulations to Fr (Dr) Johnson Parackal SDB for earning his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD). His thesis, titled “Educational Contribution of the Catholic Church in Northeast India: A Study of the Hill Districts of Assam,” marks a significant academic contribution under the guidance of Prof. Paul B. Chonzik, Associate Professor at Assam University, Silchar.
Currently serving as the Principal of Don Bosco College, Diphu, Fr (Dr) Johnson Parackal’s achievement is seen as an inspiring milestone in his long-standing commitment to educational development. His research highlights the pivotal role played by the Catholic Church in enhancing educational opportunities in Northeast India, particularly in the challenging terrains of Assam’s hill districts.
