The programme commenced with a special morning assembly conducted by the EVS students of Classes IX and X under the guidance of their teacher, Mr. Royal Baraily. Through their engaging performance, they reminded the school community of the shared responsibility to care for nature and utilize natural resources wisely.
Following the skit, all students and staff members solemnly took a pledge to protect the environment through their daily actions and to contribute towards creating a greener and healthier world.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Nicodim Aind SDB, Principal reflected on the significance of the World Environment Day theme. He encouraged everyone to draw inspiration from nature and work together in addressing climate change and safeguarding the future of the planet.
“Nature is our greatest teacher and protector. By caring for trees, water, animals, and the environment, we help fight climate change and ensure a better future for ourselves and future generations. Let us be inspired by nature and work together to protect our common home,” he said.
To mark the occasion, senior students and teachers participated in a sapling plantation drive on the school campus, symbolizing their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The celebrations continued in the afternoon with a variety of awareness-building activities. Students of Classes VII to X participated in an essay-writing competition on the topics “The Importance of Trees in Our Lives” and “Climate Change and Its Effects.” Meanwhile, students of Classes IV to VI showcased their creativity through poster-making competitions based on the themes “Save Trees, Save Earth” and “Go Green, Keep It Clean.”
