The Vocational Guidance and Formation Commission convened its meeting on 14 February 2026 (Saturday) at 10:00 AM in the Board Room of the All Commissions Office, Provincial House. The gathering brought together commission members to review the present vocational scenario and to chart a clear and dynamic course for the coming year.

The meeting began with an opening prayer led by Fr Mackley Augustine Gomes, invoking the guidance of the Holy Spirit for fruitful deliberations. Fr Bivan R. Mukhim, Vice Provincial welcomed the members and, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of renewed zeal and creative commitment in promoting vocations in the Province.

The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and presented by Fr Philemon Pumah. This was followed by an evaluation of the Vocational Guidance and Formation activities for the year 2025–2026. A detailed report on the Vocation Camps conducted during the year was presented by Fr John Mathias Marak, Vocation Promoter. The members appreciated the achievements and strengths of the initiatives while also honestly reflecting on the challenges and concerns that surfaced during the year.

A significant part of the discussion focused on the present vocational scenario in the Province. The members examined current trends, emerging challenges, and the need for deeper accompaniment of young aspirants discerning their vocation.

Looking ahead, the Commission carefully planned activities for the year 2026–2027. Key areas of focus included strengthening vocational promotion initiatives, organizing formation programmes, and enhancing accompaniment processes. The importance of collaboration with Bosco Reach Out (BRO), communities, parishes, and educational institutions was strongly highlighted to ensure a collective and coordinated effort in fostering vocations.

The meeting also addressed the roles and responsibilities of the Commission members, budgetary considerations, and resource planning to ensure effective implementation of proposed activities. Members were given an opportunity to share suggestions and observations during the open forum session.

The session concluded with remarks by Fr Ethelbert Minj, who thanked the members for their active participation and dedication. The meeting ended with a closing prayer led by Fr Threnius N. Sangma, entrusting the Commission’s plans and efforts to God’s providence.
