A four-day Vocation Camp for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) concluded successfully at Don Bosco School, Amguri, on 13 January 2026, leaving the participants spiritually enriched and deeply inspired to discern God’s call in their lives. The camp, organised by the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, was held from 10 to 13 January 2026 under the theme “Come and See” (Jn 1:39).
The camp was inaugurated on 10 January 2026 and brought together young aspirants from different parts of the Bodoland region who gathered with enthusiasm and openness to learn more about the Salesian way of life and vocation to the priesthood and religious life. The programme provided a prayerful, interactive, and reflective environment, helping the participants to understand the importance of listening to God’s call with generosity and courage.
Throughout the four days, the participants were guided through a series of meaningful sessions conducted by several Salesians from the BTR Region. The sessions focused on vocation discernment, the life and mission of St John Bosco, the Salesian charism, personal growth, prayer life, and commitment to service. The resource persons shared their personal vocation journeys, offering inspiring testimonies and practical guidance to help the young boys reflect seriously on their future.
In addition to the sessions, the daily schedule included Holy Mass, morning and night prayers, Rosary, group discussions, games, and moments of recreation. These activities helped foster fraternity, discipline, and a joyful Salesian spirit among the participants. The family gatherings and interactive moments further strengthened bonds and created an atmosphere of trust and openness.
The camp concluded on 13 January 2026 with the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. John Mathias Mrong Marak, SDB, the Vocation Promoter, who also coordinated the camp. In his homily, Fr. Marak encouraged the participants to continue discerning God’s will with sincerity, reminding them that a vocation is a gift from God that requires prayer, commitment, and perseverance. He thanked the Salesians, brothers, and organisers for their dedicated involvement and support in making the camp a meaningful experience.
At the conclusion of the camp, the participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to attend the programme, stating that the experience had helped them grow spiritually and gain clarity about their life choices.
