The Vice Provincial, Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, addressed the students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Satgaon, during the morning assembly on January 22, 2026. He expressed his happiness at witnessing the steady growth of the institution, particularly in terms of infrastructure development and overall performance.

Fr. Mukhim noted with appreciation that the newly constructed and well-furnished wing of the school had been blessed and inaugurated by the Provincial last December. He also commended the excellent results achieved by the Class X students over the past few years. In addition, he congratulated the Scouts and Guides for their active participation and outstanding performance at the Jamboree held in Lucknow during December–January.

Encouraging the students to give priority to their studies, Fr. Mukhim remarked, “The first duty of a student is to study, the second is to study, and the third is to study.” Quoting Pope Leo, he further advised the students not to unduly rely on Artificial Intelligence (AI), but to cultivate personal discipline, critical thinking, and moral responsibility.

Earlier, Fr. Mukhim was accorded a warm welcome with a bouquet and traditional mufflers by the staff and students. Fr. Mathias Marak and Bro. Peter Marak were also welcomed in the same manner. A group of students rendered a song in to welcome the guests.

After the assembly, Fr. Mukhim held a special session with the Class XI students, the first batch of the Higher Secondary section, during which he spoke on the importance of self-development and character formation.

It may be noted that Fr. Mukhim, Fr. Marak, and three brothers were in Satgaon to conduct a vocation camp which began on January 19. Sixteen Class VII boys from Umswai, Amkachi, Sojong, and Satgaon participated in the three-day camp.
