The newly vested novices along with the Provincial of Shillong and the Novice Master after the Vestition Holy Mass at Salesian Novitiate, Sunnyside, Upper Shillong.
In a deeply moving ceremony held at St. Dominic Savio Novitiate, Don Bosco Sunnyside on 10 May 2025, twenty-four Novices were vested with the Religious Cassock, while two Novices received the Religious Crucifix, marking a significant step in their journey toward the Salesian religious life. Among the 26 Novices, four belong to the Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati.
The main celebrant for the occasion was Rev. Fr. John Zosiama SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Shillong, who presided over the Vestition Holy Mass of the Novices. Also present at the solemn ceremony were Rev. Fr. Jeevan Kishore Lakra SDB, Vice Provincial of Shillong, and Rev. Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot SDB, the Novice Master, along with other Salesians.
The newly vested Novices now prepare themselves for their Spiritual Retreat in anticipation of their First Religious Salesian Profession, scheduled for 24 May 2025. Let us continue to support them with our prayers—simple, sincere, and filled with faith—as they take these sacred steps toward a life of dedication and service.
