A two-day Sunday School Animation Programme for the children of Chirangre Circle was held at Sachongre Village on 29 and 30 August 2026 as part of the monthly activities of Rongkhon Parish. The programme brought together Sunday school children and teachers from five villages for two days of faith formation, animation, fellowship and talent development.
On the first day, 90 Sunday school children and 12 teachers gathered at Sachongre. The programme began at 10:00 a.m. with morning prayer, followed by a session conducted by Mrs. Milliniam Marak, a member of the Marian Sodality, on the theme “Jesus Loves and Teaches the Children.”
The children then took part in various competitions, including singing, dancing, skit and Bible quiz. The activities were conducted by the Sunday school teachers and animated by youth leaders, youngsters and teachers of Chirangre Circle. The day’s programme concluded at 4:00 p.m., after which the children returned to their respective villages with their parents.
The second day began with the gathering of children and parishioners at 9:30 a.m. The programme opened with morning prayer and a welcome address by Fr. Justin Arul Chinnaparaj, priest in charge of Sunday School.
Three faith-formation sessions were conducted before the Holy Mass. Sr. Cicilia spoke on “The Ten Commandments,” while Mr. Najeng R. Marak, former Procharak of the parish, addressed the participants on “The Importance of the Sacraments for Catholics.” Mr. Enstern R. Marak, Catechist of Chirangre, conducted the third session on “The Eucharist.” The Youth Animation Group enlivened the sessions with singing and dancing. Fr. Justin also made himself available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the programme. The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was held at noon, with around 110 Sunday school children taking part actively along with the other faithful. Following the Mass, prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions conducted on the first day.
