The Province organized the Tri-Monthly Recollection for Clerics and Brothers at the Provincial House, Panbazar, on 11–12 July 2026. The two-day programme brought together Salesian clerics and brothers from across the province for prayer, reflection, fraternity, and ongoing formation in the spirit of St. John Bosco.

The recollection began on Saturday with the first session animated by Rev. Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial, who invited the participants to deepen their Salesian identity through a life rooted in prayer, community, and apostolic commitment. He encouraged the young Salesians to cultivate a disciplined spiritual life, remain faithful to their vocation, and continually grow in their mission of accompanying the young with the heart of Don Bosco.

In the evening, the recollection talk was given by Rev. Fr. Suresh Innocent, SDB, of Assam Don Bosco University, Tapesia Garden. His reflections inspired the participants to renew their relationship with Christ and to recognize recollection as an opportunity for personal conversion and vocational renewal. The day concluded with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, common adoration and evening prayer led by Cl. Dodrai Alexander, SDB, followed by supper, night prayers, and the Good Night talk by Rev Fr Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial.

In his Goodnight Talk, he reminded the brothers to be mindful of the purpose of their Practical Training and to contribute generously to the community by carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to them. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong Salesian presence among the young and accompanying them at all times. He also stressed that the brothers should prepare themselves to become good Salesians after the heart of St John Bosco.

Recalling the example of earlier generations of Salesians, he noted that they worked with great dedication and commitment during their Practical Training. He observed that, in contrast, some young Salesians today tend to give in to tiredness and are often distracted by the excessive use of social media and mobile phones. He encouraged the brothers to use their time wisely, embrace hard work, and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their Salesian vocation.

The second day commenced with Lectio Divina, enabling the participants to prayerfully meditate on the Word of God. This was followed by the Holy Eucharist integrated with Morning Prayer.

The morning sessions focused on important dimensions of Salesian life. Rev. Fr. Cletus Sebastian, SDB, spoke on “Personality Development and Prayer Life,” highlighting the inseparable relationship between personal maturity and spiritual growth. He emphasized that a Salesian’s effectiveness in ministry flows from a balanced personality nourished by an authentic life of prayer.

The third session was led by Rev. Fr. Charles Deepen Lakra, SDB, on the theme “Salesian Discipline.” He underlined that discipline is not merely external observance but a joyful expression of fidelity to one’s vocation, community life, and mission. He encouraged the participants to embrace discipline as a means of growing in freedom, responsibility, and evangelical witness.

The recollection concluded with an interactive Group Dynamics session on the theme “Salesian Discipline: A Way Forward.” Through discussion and reflection, participants explored practical ways of strengthening Salesian discipline in personal life, community living, formation, and apostolic ministry. The session fostered dialogue, mutual learning, and a renewed commitment to living the Salesian charism with greater authenticity.
