The proceedings of the symposium titled “Pioneers, Pathways and New Frontiers: Salesian Charism Today” were formally handed over to Rev. Fr. Silvio Roggia, SDB, General Councillor for Formation, and other Salesians during the Salesian Formators’ Meeting held at Don Bosco Provincial House, Shillong, on Monday, August 11.
Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial, gave a brief introduction to the publication, highlighting its significance in reflecting on the relevance and development of the Salesian charism in the contemporary context.
The proceedings were handed over in the presence of Rev. Fr. Silvio Roggia, SDB, General Councillor for Formation; Rev. Fr. Jose Kuttianimattathil, SDB; Rev. Fr. Ivo Coelho, SDB, former General Councillor for Formation and Rector of Divyadaan, Nashik; and Salesian formators from across the South Asia Region.
The presentation of the symposium proceedings formed part of the three-day Ratio Dissemination-cum-Training Programme for the South Asia Region, held at Don Bosco Provincial House, Shillong, from August 9 to 11, 2026. The programme focused on the Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis et Studiorum, the fundamental document guiding the formation of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
The gathering brought together Salesian formators from across South Asia for reflection, study and sharing on the various dimensions of Salesian formation. Through interactive sessions, Lectio Divina, group discussions and personal reflection, the participants explored ways of making formation more contextual, relevant and faithful to the Salesian charism.
