The Summer Time Youth Ministry (STYM) 2026 at Don Bosco Parish, Tangla, began on a vibrant and prayerful note on July 3, 2026 with an enthusiastic gathering of young people at the inaugural ceremony held at 5:00 p.m. in Guido Hall. The programme marked the beginning of a week of faith formation, leadership development, and joyful fellowship inspired by the Salesian spirit of St. John Bosco.
The inaugural function was graced by the presence of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Bhaskar Raj Chinthamalla SDB, Rector and Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Silbirius Amsong SDB, the Youth Animator of the parish. Welcoming the participants, the two Salesians officially inaugurated the camp and encouraged the youth to make the most of the opportunity to deepen their faith, develop their talents, and build lasting friendships through the various sessions and activities planned during the programme.
A warm welcome was also accorded to the three facilitators—Br. Phabian Baglari, Br. Jonathan Dung Dung and Br. Lebanus Kullu, who were received with great enthusiasm by the Parish Priest and the young people. Their presence and commitment are expected to enrich the camp through animation, interactive sessions, and accompaniment of the participants.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Silbirius Amsong SDB, Asst. Parish Priest who offered special prayers for all the young participants. In his homily, he invited the youth to remain open to God’s grace and to actively engage in every aspect of the programme, emphasizing that the Summer Time Youth Ministry is a valuable opportunity to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and emotionally.
The response from the parish youth has been remarkable, with more than 170 young people already enrolled in this year’s STYM. The organizers expressed their joy at the enthusiastic participation and remain hopeful that even more youngsters from the parish and surrounding communities will join in the coming days.
