The Summer Time Youth Ministry (STYM) 2026 was inaugurated at Dimakuchi Parish on 10 July 2026, marking the beginning of a three-day programme aimed at empowering young people through faith formation, leadership, and interactive learning. Over 160 youths were present for the STYM at Dimakuchi.
The inaugural programme was graced by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, who attended as the Chief Guest. Also present were Rev. Fr. Anugrah Tete, SDB, Rector and Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Hopna Tudu, SDB, Assistant Parish Priest, along with the Salesian brothers and sisters serving as resource persons for STYM 2026.
Welcoming the gathering, Rev. Fr. Anugraht Tete, SDB expressed his gratitude to the Province for organising the Summer Time Youth Ministry at Dimakuchi Parish. He said that the initiative would provide the young participants with a meaningful opportunity to grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially during the three-day programme. Invoking God’s blessings upon the camp, he encouraged the youth to participate wholeheartedly and make the best use of every session.
The inaugural session was followed by the keynote input delivered by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, SDB, on the theme “Influencing Young People in the Age of Digital Media.” In his thought-provoking presentation, he encouraged the participants to become responsible digital citizens by using social media and technology wisely, promoting positive values, safeguarding their dignity, and becoming authentic witnesses of Christ in the digital world. He reminded the youth that digital platforms should be instruments for spreading hope, truth, and goodness rather than negativity and division.
The formation programme continued with a series of interactive sessions conducted by the Salesian brothers. The participants were subsequently divided into various groups for discussions, team-building exercises, and other group activities designed to foster collaboration, leadership, creativity, and personal growth.
