The Catholic Youth Movement (CYM) of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Haflong, successfully organized its Annual Parish Youth Camp, “YouthMeet ’26”, from 17 to 19 July 2026 under the theme “Igniting the Torch of Faith.” The three-day gathering brought together young people from various sub-centres of the parish for a vibrant experience of faith formation, leadership development, fellowship, and recreation.

The camp commenced on the afternoon of 17 July with registration, followed by an inaugural ceremony that included the opening invocation by Fr. Ngouning John, the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, Scripture reading, intercessory prayers, a welcome song, and a welcome address by James Phoitong, President of the Catholic Youth Movement. The keynote address was delivered by Mrs. Elary, after which guests were felicitated. The first day concluded with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Albert D. Sangma, Parish Priest, followed by the Rosary and evening reflection.

The second day began with morning prayer and Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Ngouning John K. Participants then took part in a series of animation sessions, leadership talks, interactive discussions, team-building activities, and group discussions. A key session was facilitated by Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim SDB, Vice President, while Fr. Charles Deepen Lakra SDB, animated another formation session. The afternoon featured recreational games, followed by the Holy Rosary and an impressive cultural programme where participants showcased their talents through traditional songs, dances, and performances, strengthening bonds of friendship and community spirit.

On the final day, the youth gathered for Eucharistic Adoration and the Sacrament of Reconciliation before participating in the concluding Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim SDB. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, camp evaluation, farewell lunch, and the departure of participants, who returned to their respective sub-centres enriched with renewed faith and enthusiasm for serving the Church and society.

The Annual Parish Youth Camp once again demonstrated the commitment of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Haflong, to nurturing young people in the values of the Gospel. Through prayer, formation, fellowship, and service, the gathering inspired participants to deepen their relationship with Christ and to become active leaders in their parish communities.
