The General Meeting of the Past Pupil Association of St. Dominic Savio H.S. School, Garobadha, was held on 6th June 2026 with the participation of 55 past pupils, along with guests, school staff, and students. The gathering served as an occasion for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and renew their commitment to the values and mission of Don Bosco.
The programme began with a formal inauguration, including the lighting of candles and a welcome address. Adv. Mareng K.K. Sangma, President of the Association, highlighted the important role of past pupils in preserving the legacy of the institution and contributing to its future development. The event was further enriched by cultural performances presented by the school students.
Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma SDB, the Principal of Don Bosco Junior College Tura and Province Delegate of Past Pupils, animated the gathering by stressing the significance of the Past Pupils Association in the spirit of Don Bosco. He encouraged the alumni to remain united and actively involved in the life of the institution, reminding them of their responsibility to give back to society and to their alma mater for the education and formation they had received.
The Chief Guest, Shri Subir M. Marak, Hon’ble MLA, shared his personal experience as a former student of a Don Bosco institution. He spoke about the lasting impact of Don Bosco education in shaping character, discipline, leadership, and social responsibility. He praised the contribution of Don Bosco schools in producing responsible citizens and urged the alumni to continue supporting educational and social initiatives.
During the plenary session, members discussed various proposals related to the forthcoming Golden Jubilee celebrations, including the construction of a Cenotaph, publication of a Jubilee Souvenir, and other developmental initiatives.
The meeting concluded with closing remarks by Fr. Punit Kumar Lakra SDB, Principal of St. Dominic Savio H.S. School, who thanked all the participants and encouraged the alumni to remain actively engaged in the growth and progress of the institution.
The gathering ended on a positive note, reaffirming the alumni’s dedication to the ideals of Don Bosco and their commitment to the continued development of their alma mater.
