St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha, organized its Arts, Crafts cum Science Exhibition and Food Fest on Friday, August 7, providing students with a vibrant platform to showcase their scientific knowledge, artistic talents, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills.

The programme was inaugurated by Sir Bestling A. Sangma, Principal of Garobadha Higher Secondary School. The event began with a prayer service, followed by a traditional Garo welcome and a melodious welcome song presented by the students of Class XII.

In his welcome address, Fr. Punit Kumar Lakra, SDB, Rector and Principal, highlighted the importance of experiential learning in the holistic development of students. He encouraged the students to go beyond the confines of the classroom and develop creativity, scientific thinking, innovation, practical skills, and confidence through hands-on learning experiences.

Addressing the gathering, Sir Bestling A. Sangma congratulated the school management, teachers, and students for organizing such a meaningful and educative event. He appreciated the creativity, innovation, dedication, and hard work reflected in the exhibits and encouraged the students to cultivate a scientific temper, confidence, and a spirit of inquiry. He also commended the teachers for their dedicated efforts in identifying and nurturing the talents of the students.

The exhibition featured a wide variety of science models, arts and crafts, creative displays, and food stalls prepared and managed by the students. The exhibits demonstrated not only the students’ academic understanding but also their ability to apply knowledge practically, work collaboratively, and present their ideas with confidence.

The event attracted more than 500 students from 12 neighbouring schools, accompanied by their teachers. A large number of parents also visited the exhibition and appreciated the creativity, presentation skills, scientific knowledge, and enthusiasm displayed by the students.

The exhibition concluded with the declaration of the Half-Yearly Examination 2026 results in the presence of parents.
