The Girls’ Guide Contingent of St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha with the trophy after winning at the District Level.

The Girls’ Guide Contingent of St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha, brought pride and honour to the institution by winning the title of “Best Marching Contingent (Girls)” at the District-Level Independence Day 2025 Celebration held at Students’ Field, Ampati.

The event was graced by Shri Timothy D. Shira, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, as the Chief Guest. Twenty-six students represented the school in the march past, displaying flawless coordination, discipline, and a deep sense of patriotic spirit among contingents from across the district.

The recognition was conferred by the Government of Meghalaya through the District Administration, South West Garo Hills, Ampati, and presented by Ms. Hema Nayak, IAS, Deputy Commissioner. The certificate, embellished with the official government seal and national emblems such as the Ashoka Chakra and fighter jets, symbolises the unity, dedication, and excellence of the school’s marching team.

This achievement not only celebrates the hard work and commitment of the students but also serves as an inspiration for the entire school community to strive for teamwork, discipline, and national pride. Heartfelt congratulations go to the girls’ contingent and their mentors for this outstanding success.
