St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha, put up an impressive performance to emerge as the runner-up in the 1st Edition Inter-School Under-19 Volleyball Tournament, 2026, held on March 20, 2026. The tournament was organized by the South West Garo Hills Volleyball Association in collaboration with the District Sports Office, Ampati.
The event was graced by District Sports Officer Sir Mongera, whose presence served as a source of encouragement and motivation for the young athletes. A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, which was conducted in a knockout format, progressing through the first round, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and culminating in the final match. Matches were efficiently organized across multiple courts.
The tournament witnessed a vibrant display of enthusiasm, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship. All participating teams demonstrated commendable teamwork, discipline, and determination, making the event both exciting and inspiring.
In the Boys’ Category final, Golagre SSA School, Rangsakona faced St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha. Both teams showcased excellent coordination and resilience in a closely contested match. In the end, Golagre SSA School, Rangsakona clinched the championship title, while St. Dominic Savio Hr. Sec. School secured the runner-up position.
