St. Augustine Hospital, Chapaguri, in collaboration with Dotma Parish, organised a free medical camp at Don Bosco, Saralpara, on Sunday, 25 October 2026, with the aim of promoting healthcare awareness and providing accessible medical services to the local community.
Held under the theme “Together for a Healthier Community,” the initiative sought to extend compassionate healthcare services to people in need and encourage them to take greater responsibility for their health and well-being.
The medical camp offered consultations and services in general medicine, dental care, and general surgery. The initiative provided an opportunity for people to seek medical advice and receive healthcare support in a welcoming and caring environment.
Rev Fr Sebastian Edathumparambil SDB, Rector and Parish Priest of Dotma said, “the collaboration between St. Augustine Hospital and Dotma Parish reflected the Church’s commitment to serving the community, particularly those who face difficulties accessing healthcare facilities. By bringing medical services closer to the people, the camp highlighted the importance of community participation and collaboration in promoting a healthier society”, he said.
The initiative also reflected the hospital’s motto, “Compassionate Love of God,” demonstrating how healthcare can become a concrete expression of Christian charity and service to humanity.
A total of 348 people from Saralpara village availed themselves of the facilities offered during the free medical camp. The initiative served as a meaningful step towards building a healthier and more caring community.
