The Annual Spiritual Retreat of the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, concluded on Saturday, 25 July 2026, at Siloam, Umiam Khwan, after days of prayer, reflection, silence, and spiritual renewal.
The concluding Holy Eucharist was presided over by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, Provincial. In his homily and concluding remarks, he expressed his gratitude to the confreres for their wholehearted participation in the retreat and appreciated the spirit of recollection they maintained throughout the programme.
Fr. Sebastian particularly commended the confreres for faithfully observing silence during the retreat. He noted that their disciplined and prayerful atmosphere had earned the admiration of the staff members of Siloam, who appreciated the serene environment created by the retreatants.
The Provincial also expressed his sincere thanks to the Siloam community for their warm hospitality and the meticulous arrangements that ensured a meaningful retreat experience for all. He acknowledged the dedicated efforts of everyone involved in organizing the programme, whose service contributed greatly to the success of the retreat.
A special word of gratitude was extended to Rev. Fr. Biji Thomas, SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Kolkata, who served as the retreat preacher. Fr. Sebastian thanked him for his inspiring conferences, spiritual guidance, and reflections, which helped the confreres deepen their relationship with God and renew their Salesian vocation.
The retreat concluded on a note of thanksgiving and renewed commitment, as the confreres returned to their respective communities spiritually refreshed and strengthened for their mission of serving the young in the spirit of St. John Bosco.
