Don Bosco Sojong hosted the Salesian Family Day celebration along with the animation of the Strenna of the Rector Major for the Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Region on 29 January 2026. The gathering brought together members of the Salesian Family and collaborators in a spirit of communion, reflection, and shared mission.

The programme began with the Hymn to the Holy Spirit, followed by an opening prayer led by Rev. Fr. Vivek Lakra SDB. Rev. Fr. Abraham Kanattu SDB, Rector and Parish Priest of Sojong, warmly welcomed the gathering. In his address, he highlighted the significance of the occasion, describing it as a valuable opportunity to study, reflect upon, and deepen the understanding of the Strenna of the Rector Major in the light of the Salesian charism.

The animation of the Strenna was conducted by Rev. Fr. Pradeep Ekka SDB, who helped the participants reflect meaningfully on the message and its relevance to Salesian life and mission today. His presentation encouraged active engagement and renewed commitment among those present.

Following the animation, a prayer service in honour of Don Bosco was held. The participants actively joined in singing the hymn to Don Bosco and offering prayers, creating a prayerful and joyful atmosphere rooted in gratitude for the Salesian vocation and mission.

The meeting was attended by members of all the Salesian communities of the region. In addition, the MSMHC and FMA sisters, other religious sisters, and lay family members who collaborate in the Salesian mission were also present, reflecting the broad and inclusive spirit of the Salesian Family.

To conclude the day, a fellowship dinner was organised, to which priests and sisters from neighbouring communities were invited, including those not formally part of the Salesian Family. The celebration thus ended on a warm note of fraternity, strengthening bonds and reaffirming the shared commitment to serve the young in the spirit of Don Bosco.
