The annual retreat for twenty-six clerics and brothers at Tapesia concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on 23 October, 2026, presided over by Fr Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial as the main celebrant. The concluding Eucharist provided an opportunity for the retreatants to reflect on the spiritual insights gained during the retreat and renew their commitment to religious life and the Salesian mission.

In his homily, the Provincial reflected on the day’s first reading from Ephesians 4:1–6, highlighting the importance of unity, humility, gentleness, patience, and mutual love in religious life. Connecting the scriptural message with the daily responsibilities of the confreres, he emphasised the need to remain faithful to their religious commitments and live out their vocation with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. He encouraged the retreatants to become responsible and committed members of their respective communities, whether engaged in academic studies or practical training. He also stressed the importance of fostering an atmosphere of joy, optimism, and fraternity within their communities, thereby bearing authentic witness to their Salesian vocation.

The Provincial expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Tapesia confreres for their warm hospitality and generous support in hosting the retreat. He thanked Fr Kuriala Chittattukalam, the retreat preacher, for his spiritual guidance and inspiring reflections throughout the week. He also acknowledged the Vice Provincial for his meticulous planning and coordination, which contributed significantly to the smooth and successful conduct of the retreat. Special appreciation was extended to the domestic staff for their dedicated service, particularly their tireless efforts in the kitchen and in attending to the daily needs of the retreatants.

Following the Holy Mass, Br Themus Lugun expressed his gratitude to all the fathers who had contributed to making the retreat a meaningful and spiritually enriching experience. He acknowledged their presence, guidance, and support throughout the retreat.

After breakfast, Br Athanasius Kerketta, on behalf of all the retreatants, offered a heartfelt vote of thanks to the retreat preacher, the community members and the domestic staff. He expressed sincere appreciation for their commitment, hard work, and generous service throughout the week, which ensured the comfort and well-being of everyone participating in the retreat.
