On the evening of March 13, 2026, Fr. Sebastian Kurichel, the Provincial of Guwahati Province, paid a visit to the Emmaus Salesian novitiate community in Zubza. The novices welcomed him with songs and bouquets of flowers, after which he delivered an address expressing his happiness at visiting the novitiate. After tea, Fr. Provincial also visited Savio Home Apostolic School, where he was warmly welcomed by the confreres and the apostolic boys of Savio Home with a welcome song and Naga mufflers.

In his Good Night talk, he conveyed the regards of the Vice Provincial and council members. He shared extensive news about the province and urged the novices to listen to the word of God and learn about their founder, Don Bosco. He emphasized that it is not enough merely to hear God’s word one must act on it; nor is it enough simply to know Don Bosco one must love and imitate him.

The next morning, on March 14, he presided over Holy Eucharist. In his homily, he urged the novices to love God with a love as strong and firm as a rock not like morning dew that melts at sunrise. He also encouraged them to remain humble and simple.

After Mass, he met with the novices of Guwahati Province. He congratulated them for persevering courageously in their vocation and assured them they are the hope of the province, the congregation, and the Church. He stressed that Christ must be the center of their lives, and Don Bosco’s passion “Give me souls, take away the rest” should be theirs too. He added that the first step they take in religious profession should also be their last. Finally, he urged them to preserve the values learned in the novitiate. One novice then proposed a vote of thanks for his invaluable visit and fatherly love and care.
