The Provincial House Community observed the 77th Republic Day of the nation on Monday, 26 January 2026, with deep patriotic fervour and a spirit of gratitude to God. The celebration began with the solemn Holy Mass, which was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial. The Mass brought together the members of the Provincial House Community in prayer for the nation, its leaders, and its people, invoking God’s blessings on India as it continues its journey as a democratic republic.
Following the Holy Mass, the Republic Day programme continued with the hoisting of the National Flag by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB. As the tricolour was unfurled, the community stood in respectful attention, expressing unity, pride, and commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitution of India. The singing of the National Anthem reminded of the valour of the leaders to take forward and strive for the good of the nation.
The Republic Day address was delivered by Cleric Dominic Soren SDB, who reflected on the significance of the day in the life of the nation. In his speech, he highlighted the achievements of India in various fields over the years and acknowledged the progress made as a country since the adoption of the Constitution. At the same time, he drew attention to the need for vigilance and responsibility in safeguarding the Constitution, urging everyone to pray for its protection and faithful implementation. He reminded the gathering that respect for the Constitution and its values is essential for preserving unity, peace, and harmony in society.
The celebration concluded with the singing of the song ‘Into that Heaven of Freedom my Father, let my Country Awake’.
