Rev. Fr Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, Provincial, met the nine brothers of the Province pursuing their studies at Salesian College, Sonada, on Sunday, 25 October 2026. The meeting provided an opportunity for fraternal sharing, encouragement, and reflection on their academic progress and preparation for their future Salesian ministry. The interaction took place as part of the Curatorium meeting at Salesian College, Sonada.
During the morning, the Provincial interacted with the brothers pursuing their Bachelor of Philosophy and Bachelor of Arts studies. He encouraged them to remain committed to their academic responsibilities, cultivate a spirit of discipline, and make the best use of the opportunities offered to them during their years of formation. He reminded them of the importance of serious study and intellectual preparation in equipping themselves to respond effectively to the needs and challenges of the young.
The Provincial also encouraged the brothers to view their academic pursuits as an integral part of their overall Salesian formation. Along with intellectual growth, he emphasized the need to nurture their spiritual lives, develop their human qualities, and deepen their sense of responsibility towards the mission entrusted to them. He urged them to prepare themselves wholeheartedly for their future ministry, keeping the Salesian charism and the service of young people, especially the poor and disadvantaged, at the centre of their lives. The brothers expressed their joy at meeting the Provincial and appreciated the opportunity to interact with him personally. They shared updates on their studies, experiences in the formation community, and personal plans for the future. The exchange enabled them to communicate their aspirations and reflect on the steps needed to grow in their vocation and prepare themselves for the responsibilities that lie ahead.
