The Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, will witness a moment of great joy and thanksgiving as Dn. John K Ngouning SDB will be ordained a priest on 15 January 2026. The solemn Priestly Ordination will be conferred by Most Rev. Neli Linus D.D., Archbishop of Imphal, at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent High School, Pumdumlong Village.

The ordination, inspired by the biblical theme “You are Mine” (Isaiah 43:1), will mark a significant milestone in the life of Dn. John K Ngouning, as he responds generously to God’s call in the Salesian Congregation. Salesians, clergy, religious, family members, friends, and the faithful from various places are expected to gather for this sacred celebration.

Following the ordination, the newly ordained priest will celebrate his Thanksgiving Mass on 16 January 2026 at 7:30 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Willong Khullen. The Eucharistic celebration will be an occasion for the faithful to join him in thanking God for the gift of his priestly vocation and to seek God’s blessings for his future ministry.

The Province and the local Church will prayerfully accompany Dn. John K Ngouning as he begins his priestly journey, entrusting his life and mission to the guidance of Mary Help of Christians and St. John Bosco.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, Provincial, along with Rev. Fr. Jayaprakash Anthonimuttu, SDB, Economer, will represent all the confreres of the Province at the ordination.
