Rev. Bp. Andrew R. Marak, DD, Bishop of Tura blesses the new presence of the Prabhudasi Sisters at the sub-centre in Gabil under Mendal Parish.
On 24th April 2025, the Parish of Mendal marked a significant occasion with the blessing of the new presence of the Prabhudasi Sisters at the sub-centre in Gabil. The Sisters, who took charge of the local school, were formally welcomed during a handing-over ceremony officiated by Rev. Bp. Andrew R. Marak, DD, Bishop of Tura.
The ceremony was attended by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial, and Rev. Fr. Tomey Anikuzhikattil SDB, Rector and Parish Priest of Mendal, along with Salesian priests, sisters, and laypeople. In a heartfelt moment, Rev. Bishop Marak blessed the newly constructed convent building, extending a warm welcome to the Sisters as they began their service in Garo Hills and Gabil.
A short felicitation program followed, where Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal spoke on behalf of the province, expressing support and joy for the Sisters’ new mission. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for both the community and the Sisters, as they embark on their journey of service and care in the region.
