Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, officially welcomed the Missionary Sisters of Mary Immaculate (MSMI) at Don Bosco Naringgre, a sub-centre of Holy Family Catholic Church, Rongjeng, on 08 January 2026. The formal welcoming and handing-over programme marked a significant moment in the pastoral and educational journey of the sub-centre.

The MSMI Sisters will continue to render their dedicated services to the sub-centre while also taking responsibility for the care and development of the school at Naringgre. Their presence was described as a blessing for the local community, especially for the children and young people who will benefit from their commitment to education and holistic formation.

Addressing the gathering, Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB warmly welcomed the Sisters and encouraged them to work with zeal and dedication for the betterment of the people, with a special focus on strengthening the school and nurturing the young minds entrusted to their care. He also appreciated the spirit of collaboration shown by the MSMI Congregation in partnering with the Salesian Province in this mission. The Rector of the Holy Family Community, Rev. Fr. Pojit Marak SDB, the Parish Priest of Holy Family Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Simplicius Kerketta SDB, and the Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Joseph Bara SDB, were present at the programme, expressing their support and goodwill to the Sisters as they begin this new chapter of service.
