The faithful of St. Francis de Sales Parish, Barpeta Road, came together on the evening of 31 May 2026 to participate in the Marian Procession held in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The procession marked the solemn conclusion of the month of May, traditionally observed by Catholics as the Month of Mary.

Carrying rosaries in hands, the faithful prayerfully walked through the streets of Barpeta Road, singing Marian hymns and devoutly reciting the Holy Rosary. The public witness of faith drew the attention of many residents of the town as the Catholic community expressed its love and devotion to the Mother of God.

The procession was led by Rev. Fr. Jonas Toppo, SDB, Parish Priest, accompanied by the sisters from the local convents, hostel girls, candidates, and parishioners of all ages.

Addressing the faithful, Fr. Toppo reminded them that the honour given to the Mother of God should become a genuine witness of their Christian faith. He noted that those who witnessed the procession would be inspired by the faith and devotion of the small Catholic community in the town. He further encouraged all present to deepen their love for the Blessed Mother and to live their Christian vocation with commitment and fidelity.

The Marian Procession concluded with prayers and blessings, bringing to a fitting close the month-long celebrations dedicated to Mary. The event served as a powerful expression of faith, unity, and devotion among the parish community.
