The International Fathers’ Day 2026 celebration was observed in Satgaon Parish on Sunday, 21 June, 2026. A short felicitation programme was organized by the Marian Sodality, the women’s association of the parish, after the second Holy Mass.
As a mark of honour and appreciation, the fathers present at the celebration were honoured with traditional mufflers. A number of children came forward to present gifts to their dads, expressing their love and gratitude.
Addressing the gathering, Fr. Albert highlighted the significance of Fathers’ Day as a special occasion to honour and appreciate fathers and father figures for their love, sacrifice, dedication, and hard work. He noted that fathers play a vital role in the family by providing support, guidance, and protection to their spouses and children. Their contribution, he added, extends beyond the family to the Church and society at large. It is their commitment and example that help to shape the character, values, and future of the younger generation.
Fr. Albert thanked all the fathers of the parish, with special appreciation for those who actively contribute to parish life through organizations such as the St. Joseph Sodality, ADMA, and the Parish Pastoral Council. He also encouraged children to honour and respect their parents and to heed their guidance in order to obtain God’s blessings as promised in Deuteronomy 5:16 and other passages of the Sacred Scripture.
The celebration concluded with a fellowship tea, offering parishioners an opportunity to interact with one another and convey their heartfelt wishes to the fathers on the occasion of Father’s Day. During the Eucharistic celebration, special prayers were offered for all the fathers of the parish, seeking God’s abundant blessings upon them and their families and thanking them for their loving presence, guidance, and sacrifices.
