The newly initiated novices along with Rev Fr John Zosiama SDB, Provincial of Shillong and Rev Fr Paul Olphindro Lyngkot SDB, Novice Master.
The initiation of the 35 new novices for the 2025-2026 batch took place on 29th May 2025 at St. Dominic Savio Novitiate, Don Bosco Sunnyside Community, Upper Shillong. The event was marked by a solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. John Zosiama SDB, Provincial of Shillong, who officially welcomed the novices into the Salesian novitiate.
Present at the ceremony were Rev. Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot SDB, Novice Master, along with the confreres of the novitiate. Among the 35 novices, 10 belonged to the Province of Guwahati.
During his homily, Rev. Fr. Zosiama encouraged the novices to be guided by the Holy Spirit throughout their time in the novitiate. He urged them to pray for perseverance in their vocations and to deepen their knowledge of Don Bosco’s life and teachings.
Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot SDB also addressed the novices, urging them to pray for one another, fostering a spirit of solidarity as they journey together in their holy vocation. The initiation ceremony was a significant moment for the novices, marking the beginning of their spiritual and Salesian formation.
