The Hon’ble Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, visited Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Panbazar, Guwahati, on the morning of 08 June 2026 and interacted with the students and staff of the institution. The visit formed part of a programme held in the school auditorium, where the Governor addressed the Bosconian community and encouraged students to pursue excellence in their academic and personal lives.
The programme, connected with “Amar Swaheed Shraddhanjali”, a tribute to the nation’s martyrs, brought together distinguished guests, military officers, educators, and students. The presence of the Hon’ble Governor added great significance to the occasion and inspired the young audience.
Addressing the students, Shri Acharya highlighted the importance of education and values in shaping the future of the nation. He remarked:
“I am indeed happy to be in your midst. School is a temple of learning. Many of you shall one day go on to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, bureaucrats, scientists, journalists, authors, and serve society in various capacities. I wish each and every one of you all the very best for your bright future ahead. I also take this opportunity to congratulate your school Principal and faculty members for instilling values inside your system.”
The Governor encouraged the students to dream big, work hard, and remain committed to serving society and the nation. His words resonated deeply with the young audience, who listened attentively and enthusiastically.
Welcoming the Hon’ble Governor to the school, Fr. Alex Kattakayam, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco School, Panbazar, expressed his gratitude and joy at the Governor’s visit. He stated:
“It is indeed a red-letter day for all of us here at Don Bosco School, Panbazar, with the visit of His Excellency, the Hon’ble Governor of Assam. A visit by the Constitutional Head of the State to any educational institution is a matter of pride for both students and teachers. Thank you, Sir, for taking time out and addressing our students with your erudite words of wisdom, which I am sure shall invigorate these young and inquisitive minds.”
The interaction provided students with a rare opportunity to listen to and engage with one of the highest constitutional authorities in the State.
