The Hubert D’ Rosario Missionary Aspirantate (HDRMAS), Sirajuli, celebrated the Feast of St. John Bosco, on 31 January 2026 with deep devotion and gratitude. The celebration became a meaningful occasion of spiritual renewal, reflection, and renewed commitment to the Salesian charism of serving the young, especially the poor and the marginalized.
The highlight of the celebration was the Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Ethelbert Minj, SDB, Rector of HDRMAS. The Eucharistic celebration brought together the community in thanksgiving for the life, mission, and enduring legacy of St. John Bosco, whose vision and love for the young continue to inspire Salesians and young people across the world.
In his homily, Fr. Ethelbert Minj emphasized the worldwide Salesian mission rooted in Don Bosco’s unwavering faith in God and his deep love for young people. Reflecting on the humble beginnings of St. John Bosco, he noted how Don Bosco, guided by Jesus and under the loving protection of Mary, Help of Christians, responded generously to God’s call. He highlighted that Don Bosco’s life was shaped by simplicity, perseverance, and total trust in Divine Providence.
The Rector reminded the gathering that Don Bosco never worked alone but constantly relied on Jesus and Mary, placing them at the center of his mission. He encouraged the community, especially the young aspirants, to draw inspiration from Don Bosco’s life and to courageously continue the same mission today by bringing hope, faith, and love to the young through education, accompaniment, and pastoral care.
A significant and grace-filled moment of the celebration was the submission of applications by twenty-three aspirants who expressed their desire to continue their formation in the Pre-Novitiate. This joyful occasion stood as a powerful sign of vocational growth and the living presence of Don Bosco’s spirit among the youth. The community offered earnest prayers for these aspirants, that they may grow in faith, discernment, and commitment as they journey forward in their Salesian vocation.
The celebration concluded with a renewed sense of mission and gratitude, as the HDRMAS community entrusted itself to the intercession of St. John Bosco and Mary, Help of Christians, praying for fidelity to the Salesian spirit and dedicated service to the young entrusted to their care.
