On 9 May 2026, the Salesian Community of Don Bosco, Damra, witnessed a solemn and grace-filled occasion with the installation of the new Rector, Rev. Fr. Vincent Xalxo, SDB, during the evening prayer held at 7:00 PM.

The ceremony was attended by the Fr Sebastian Kuricheal, Provincial, the Fr Jayaprakash Anthonimuttu, Economer, and members of the Salesian communities of Don Bosco Damra and Don Bosco Gojapara. The gathering reflected the spirit of fraternity and communion that characterizes Salesian religious life.

In his address to the community, the Father Provincial highlighted the significance of the installation ceremony in every Salesian community. He reminded the confreres that the Rector is called to be a builder of unity and communion, guiding the community in the spirit of Don Bosco. Emphasizing the core Salesian values, he encouraged the new Rector to offer spiritual guidance and maintain an active and supportive presence among the young people entrusted to their care.

The Provincial also invited all the community members to remain united and continue growing in the Salesian spirit. He stressed that Salesians are called not merely to function as workers, but to strengthen the fraternal and communal bonds that define their vocation and mission.

Following the address, Rev. Fr. Vincent Xalxo, SDB, was invited to make his Profession of Faith, formally accepting his responsibility as Rector of the community.

The meaningful ceremony concluded with a hymn in honour of the Blessed Mother, entrusting the new Rector and the community to her loving guidance and protection.
