Rev. Fr. Threnius N. Sangma, SDB, Sector Head for Youth Centres and Oratories of the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati (ING), is participating in the Oratories and Youth Centre Meet being held at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Trichy, from 25 to 27 June 2026. The three-day gathering has been organized by Don Bosco Youth Animation – South Asia (DBYA-SA) in collaboration with the Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) under the theme, “Vision – Oratory & Youth Centres in Today’s Context.”

The programme has brought together Salesians responsible for Youth Centres and Oratories from the various Salesian Provinces of South Asia to reflect on the present realities, challenges, and future directions of the Salesian Oratory movement. It serves as a platform for sharing experiences, strengthening collaboration, and renewing the commitment to Don Bosco’s preventive system in responding to the needs of young people.

The meeting commenced with prayer and the Holy Eucharist, followed by the inaugural session, welcome address, keynote address by the Provincial of Tiruchy, and presentations on the vision and updated Frame of Reference (FoR) for Oratories and Youth Centres by Fr. Patrick Lepcha, DBYA-SA. The participating Provinces, including the Province of Guwahati (ING), were also scheduled to present reports on their respective youth ministry initiatives and experiences.

On the second day, the participants are reflecting on the vocational dimension and job orientation in Salesian Oratories, engaging in group discussions on strengthening Youth Centres, and formulating concrete lines of action for the future before concluding the programme.

The gathering also offers an enriching opportunity to learn from the experiences of other Provinces and to foster greater collaboration in promoting Don Bosco’s mission for the young across South Asia.
