Fr Simplicius Kerketta SDB was officially installed as the new Parish Priest of Holy Family Catholic Church, Rongjeng by Bishop Andrew R. Marak DD, Bishop of Tura.
In a joyful and spiritually enriching celebration, Fr Simplicius Kerketta SDB was officially installed as the new Parish Priest of Holy Family Catholic Church, Rongjeng, on Sunday, 13th July 2025. The installation ceremony was presided over by His Lordship Bishop Andrew R. Marak of the Diocese of Tura.
Adding grace and festivity to the occasion were 200 children who received their First Holy Communion on the same day, making it a truly memorable day for the parish community.
The Rector of the Rongjeng community, Rev. Fr Pojit Marak SDB, warmly welcomed the Bishop and the newly installed Parish Priest. In his address, Fr Pojit expressed deep gratitude to God for the manifold blessings bestowed upon the parish. He thanked the Bishop for his presence and pastoral care and extended heartfelt appreciation to the First Communicants, acknowledging the special significance of their spiritual milestone.
In his homily, Bishop Andrew R. Marak offered prayers and good wishes for Fr Simplicius as he begins his new ministry. He encouraged the faithful to support their new shepherd with prayers and collaboration. Addressing the First Communicants, the Bishop lovingly urged them to remain close to Jesus, whom they received for the first time in the Eucharist, and to walk faithfully with Him throughout their lives.
The parishioners of Rongjeng, in a gesture of warm welcome and sincere gratitude, assured their prayers and support for Fr Simplicius as he takes up his pastoral responsibilities. The celebration concluded with joyful fellowship and a renewed spirit of unity in the parish.
