The First Annual Spiritual Retreat of the Province concluded on 08 July 2026 with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by the retreat preacher, Rev. Fr Biji Thomas, SDB. The retreat, which commenced on 02 July 2026, brought together 53 Salesian confreres for five days of prayer, reflection, silence, and spiritual renewal.
Throughout the retreat, the participants devoted themselves to deepening their relationship with God through meditation, the celebration of the Eucharist, personal prayer, and spiritual conferences. The annual retreat offered an opportunity for the confreres to step away from their daily responsibilities and renew their Salesian vocation in the presence of the Lord.
Expressing their gratitude at the conclusion of the retreat, Rev. Fr Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, Provincial, along with the confreres, thanked Rev. Fr Biji Thomas, SDB, for his inspiring preaching and for guiding them in a profound recollection of their lives and mission in relationship with God. They acknowledged that the retreat had been a grace-filled experience that strengthened their faith and rekindled their commitment to Christ and to the Salesian mission.
Earlier, on 07 July 2026, the Provincial presided over the concluding Holy Mass during which he congratulated all the retreatants for their sincere participation, prayerful spirit, and the seriousness with which they observed the retreat. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the retreat preacher for his spiritual guidance and thanked the Siloam Community for the excellent arrangements that ensured a peaceful and prayerful atmosphere throughout the retreat.
In his concluding message, Fr Sebastian encouraged the confreres to return to their respective communities as renewed disciples of Christ. He urged them to nurture a deeper relationship with God, foster fraternal communion within their communities, and carry the fruits of the retreat into their pastoral ministry. “May this retreat inspire us to live renewed lives in communion with God and with one another,” he said.
