Don Bosco Secondary School, Panbazar, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of the nation on 26 January 2026 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. A large number of parents, students, and staff gathered on the school campus to honour the country and reflect on the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Shri K. S. Gopinath Narayan, Principal Secretary, IT Department, Government of Assam, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest spoke about the greatness of the nation and called upon everyone to honour and respect the country. Emphasising the role of the younger generation, he said, “As the youth of this nation, we need to honour our country and work towards the growth and development of our beloved nation.” His message inspired the students to take responsibility as future citizens committed to nation-building.

Welcoming the Chief Guest and all those present, Rev. Fr. Dr Alex Kattakayam, SDB, Principal of the school, expressed his joy at the enthusiastic participation of students and parents. In his address, he encouraged the students to continue striving for the progress and development of the nation and to grow up as responsible citizens and nation builders.

A highlight of the celebration was the impressive march-past by the students, followed by a series of patriotic performances that added colour and meaning to the occasion. Through songs, dances, and other cultural items, the students expressed their love for the country and paid tribute to the spirit of unity, freedom, and democracy.
