Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Sirajuli, celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5 September 2026 with enthusiasm, gratitude and deep respect for the teachers who dedicate themselves to shaping the lives of young people. The programme was organised by the students of Class X to honour the commitment, service and contribution of their teachers.

The celebration began with a warm welcome to the teachers, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day in India.

The programme was compered by Christi Updhiya and Memoi Bahadur, students of Class X. A special performance by the students of Class I added charm and innocence to the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, Fr. Kuriala Chittattukalam SDB delivered ag speech on the life and contribution of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He highlighted the noble role of teachers as guides, mentors and role models who not only impart knowledge but also help shape the character, values and future of their students.

The celebration featured a colourful array of cultural performances, including welcome songs, group dances, special dances, group singing and a drama presented by students of different classes. The performances reflected the students’ affection and appreciation for their teachers and created a joyful atmosphere throughout the programme.

Words of wisdom and addresses by the Principal and teachers further enriched the occasion, reminding the students of the importance of gratitude, discipline, hard work and respect for those who guide them in their journey of education.

A special felicitation of the teachers followed, marked by cake cutting and the distribution of gifts. The gesture expressed the students’ heartfelt appreciation for the teachers’ tireless efforts and loving service. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Fr. Ethelbert Minj, Rector, followed by refreshments. The gathering ended with the Hymn to Don Bosco and the National Anthem.
