Don Bosco School, Sashipur marked the commencement of its new scholastic year 2026–27 with a solemn and inspiring Investiture Ceremony on April 11, centred around the theme “Strive for Excellence, Lead with Values.” The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Salesian Vice Provincial of Guwahati.

The programme began with a warm welcome address by the Principal, Fr. Nicodim Aind, who highlighted the importance of leadership rooted in strong moral values. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom.

A graceful prayer dance created a serene and reflective atmosphere, setting the tone for the formal proceedings. The Chief Guest, Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, was then felicitated with the traditional Boro Aronai, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The event was enlivened by a vibrant English song presented by the hostel boys, which was warmly appreciated by the audience. Miss Evangeli further motivated the students with her inspiring words, encouraging them to strive for excellence in all their pursuits.

The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking segment. The Principal administered the oath to the Head Boy, Head Girl, Assistant Head Boy, and Assistant Head Girl, followed by Class Captains, Vice Captains, House Captains, Vice Captains, and Games Captains along with their deputies. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim conferred badges and handed over captains’ diaries, formally entrusting them with their leadership responsibilities.

In his address, the Chief Guest urged the students to excel in all aspects of life through discipline, consistent hard work, and effective time management. He also congratulated the school on its commendable performance in the Board Examinations and challenged the present Class X students to aim for even greater achievements.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elected leaders, Head Girl Shreya Pradhan expressed gratitude to the school authorities for their trust and assured that the student council would carry out their duties with sincerity and dedication.

The programme concluded on a joyful note with a colourful cultural dance, followed by the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Vice Principal, Fr. Jyotish Beck, who expressed appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the event.
