Don Bosco School, Kumarikata, joined the nation in celebrating the 80th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2026 with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. Sir Sailen Basumatary teacher and bodo writer was the Chief Guest during the flag hoisting ceremony in the school.

Rev. Fr. Victor Tigga SDB, Principal, welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries for the Flag Hoisting Ceremony. Following the hoisting of the National Flag and the National Anthem, Fr. Victor addressed the students, urging them to recognise their responsibility towards the nation. He encouraged them to work hard, make good use of their education and talents, and contribute to the growth and development of the country.

A disciplined parade by the students was one of the highlights of the celebration, reflecting their patriotism, confidence and team spirit. The programme also featured colourful cultural dances, showcasing the students’ talents and the rich cultural diversity of India.

The celebration served as a meaningful reminder that true patriotism is expressed through responsible citizenship, hard work and a commitment to building a better nation.
