In the spirit of patriotism and national pride, a grand Tiranga Rally was organised in Tamulpur District on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day on 13 August 2026. The rally was organised by the District Administration, Tamulpur, in collaboration with the Police Administration, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 64 Battalion, Don Bosco School Sashipur and ASRLM, Tamulpur.
The rally was flagged off by Smt. Simi Karan, IAS, District Commissioner, Tamulpur, who also participated in the rally. Her presence added great significance and enthusiasm to the occasion. Addressing the gathering before the commencement of the rally, the District Commissioner spoke about the importance of Independence Day and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters in securing the nation’s freedom.
She encouraged the participants to join the celebration with a genuine spirit of patriotism, unity and responsibility, and urged everyone to uphold the values for which the nation stands.
She also expressed her appreciation to the management of Don Bosco School, Sashipur, for making the necessary arrangements and providing support for the successful conduct of the rally.
Representing Don Bosco School Sashipur, Fr. Nicodim Aind, Principal, took part in the rally along with the students of Classes IX and X and their class teachers. The students participated with great enthusiasm, discipline and patriotic spirit, carrying the Tricolour and adding colour and vibrancy to the procession.
The rally commenced from the Don Bosco School, Sashipur, and proceeded towards the Bhutan Gate. The participants marched together in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and national pride before returning to the school. The sight of students, teachers, police personnel, government officials and members of the community walking together with the national flag created a strong sense of unity and collective responsibility.
The rally concluded with a renewed commitment among all participants to cherish the values of freedom, unity, peace, patriotism and responsible citizenship. It was indeed a memorable and inspiring beginning to the celebrations of the 80th Independence Day in Tamulpur District.
