Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section organized a Freshers’ Social on 10 June 2026 to officially welcome the newly admitted Class XI students. A total of 850 students joined the Higher Secondary Section this academic year, making the occasion a significant milestone in the life of the institution.
The programme began with a short but meaningful welcome function, where the management and staff extended a warm greeting to the fresh batch of students. The gathering emphasized the values of discipline, excellence, and holistic development that Don Bosco College seeks to instill in every student.
Following the welcome programme, the institution held the blessing and dedication of the newly renovated Basketball Court and Volleyball Court. Rev. Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, blessed the sports facilities and formally dedicated them to the students. In his address, Fr. Sangma expressed his happiness at providing improved sports infrastructure for the student community. He encouraged the students to make full use of the facilities and to remain committed to physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship alongside their academic pursuits.
“The newly furnished basketball and volleyball courts are meant for you. Make use of them well, keep yourselves physically active, and grow into disciplined and responsible young people,” Fr. Sangma remarked while dedicating the courts.
To mark the occasion, friendly sporting events were organized between the senior and junior students. A Basketball Match and a Volleyball Match were played between Class XI and Class XII students, generating great excitement and enthusiasm among the participants and spectators alike. The matches showcased healthy competition, team spirit, and the vibrant sporting culture of the institution.
