Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section, Tura, formally inaugurated the Academic Year 2026–2027 and felicitated its outstanding HSSLC achievers during a solemn and inspiring programme held on 05 June 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall of the Higher Secondary Section. The occasion was graced by Rev. Fr. V. M. Thomas, SDB, former Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, as the Chief Guest. The event brought together students, staff, management, and well-wishers in a celebration of academic excellence and the beginning of a new academic journey.

Welcoming the gathering, Rev. Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest for his presence and encouragement. He congratulated the students who excelled in the recently concluded Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations and urged all students to emulate their example by dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to their studies and personal growth.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. V. M. Thomas, SDB, congratulated the successful candidates, the teaching staff, and the management for the remarkable results achieved in the HSSLC examinations. Reflecting on the progress of the institution, he noted that since the bifurcation of the Higher Secondary Section, it has continued to grow from strength to strength in every sphere.

Emphasizing the importance of perseverance, he reminded the students that “nothing worthwhile is achieved without hard work and dedication.” He further lauded the tremendous progress made by the institution over the years, stating:

“Congratulations for the spectacular growth of the Higher Secondary Section over the past years under your leadership in all the various aspects, academic excellence, infrastructure, discipline, and service. You have exceeded my expectations. I am amazed at your leadership performance. Keep going and God bless you always.”

A significant highlight of the programme was the release of the theme for the College Annual Magazine: “Youth: Hope for the Family and Society.” The theme was formally unveiled by the Chief Guest, underscoring the vital role that young people play in shaping the future of families, communities, and society at large.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of the HSSLC toppers, whose outstanding achievements brought pride and honour to the institution. The event served as both a celebration of academic success and an inspiration for students embarking on the new academic year, encouraging them to pursue excellence through commitment, discipline, and hard work.
