Don Bosco College, Chapaguri joyfully celebrated the Feast of St John Bosco on 31 January 2026 at the college campus with prayer, thanksgiving, and cultural fellowship. The celebration brought together students, staff, and friends of Don Bosco to honour the Father and Founder of the Salesian Congregation.
The programme began with the Holy Mass held at the college premises. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Selvaraj Ignatius, Parish Priest of Christ Redeemer Parish, Bongaigaon. In his homily, Fr Selvaraj reflected on the life and mission of St John Bosco, highlighting his total dedication to the poor, abandoned, and marginalised youth. He spoke meaningfully about Don Bosco’s Preventive System, rooted in reason, religion, and loving-kindness, and emphasised Don Bosco’s deep love for young people, which continues to attract boys and girls to Salesian institutions across the world.
Fr Selvaraj reminded the students that they are fortunate to be studying in a Don Bosco institution, which not only imparts education but also strives to transform young lives by shaping character, values, and faith.
Rev. Fr Abhilash Vadakkekara, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, Chapaguri, welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude to all those who joined in celebrating the feast. He acknowledged the presence of well-wishers, benefactors, and friends of Don Bosco who continue to support the Salesian mission.
The Holy Mass was followed by a cultural programme presented by the students, showcasing their talents and creativity. The celebration concluded with a fellowship meal, fostering a sense of family spirit and shared joy.
