The 8th Garo Women Convention of the Diocese of Diphu, held in conjunction with the “Jubilee for Women,” concluded on 18th May 2025 at Mary Help of Christians Church, Satgaon Parish. The event came to a close with a festive Eucharistic celebration and the ceremonial lowering of the flag of the Diphu Diocese A.chik Women Association (DDAWA).

Around 400 delegates from nine parishes across the Diocese gathered for the annual convention. The three-day event was centered on the theme: “O woman, your faith is great! Let it be done for you as you desire” (Matthew 15:28).

Key resource persons included Fr. Charles Sangma, Fr. Daniel Sangma, Sr. Silsila Marak, and Mrs. Merina Marak, Media Secretary of the Women’s Regional Commission. Fr. Albert presided over the inaugural Mass, while Fr. Daniel Sangma was the principal celebrant at the concluding Eucharist.

Topics addressed during the sessions included “Pilgrims of Hope,” “Duties and Responsibilities of Mothers,” “Mothers as Promoters of Education,” “Walking with Mary as Pilgrims,” and “Women Empowerment.” These thought-provoking reflections enriched the spiritual and practical understanding of the attendees.

Besides the daily Mass, participants engaged in spiritual activities such as the Rosary, Adoration, and Gospel Sharing. A highlight of the devotional moments was the Marian Procession held on the evening of 17th May (Saturday), which drew great reverence and participation.
