The Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli, successfully concluded its Holiday Package programme with a certificate distribution ceremony held on 31 March 2026. The occasion was graced by Shri K. S. Gopinath Narayan, IAS, Principal Secretary (IT), Government of Assam, as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Gopinath Narayan encouraged the graduates to value short-term skill courses as the beginning of lifelong learning. He emphasized that students should not feel inferior to peers pursuing longer academic programmes, as all learning is meaningful. Highlighting the impact of artificial intelligence, he noted that the rapidly changing world demands mental agility, adaptability, and continuous skill acquisition rather than mere specialization. He remarked that with knowledge now easily accessible, human value lies in the ability to learn and apply skills effectively.
Interacting with the students, the Chief Guest expressed appreciation for their discipline and enthusiasm. He stressed that in today’s fast-evolving world, skills are often more important than conventional degrees and encouraged the youth to remain grounded, contribute meaningfully to society, and give their best in whatever they undertake.
Rev. Fr. Cletus Sebastian, SDB, Executive Director of DBI, welcomed the gathering and thanked the Chief Guest for his presence. He expressed gratitude to the fathers, sisters, and teachers for their dedicated guidance during the Holiday Package. He also shared inspiring success stories of students who benefitted from the institute’s programmes.
